Part 2-I can’t breathe…

Part 2-I can’t breathe…

Conclusion to yesterday's “Dear younger me” post. The reason we wanted to draw attention to this song is that it explains something many of us do not understand or have often forgotten while on our journey with Jesus. One of the lyrics of this song stated, “it's not your fault, you were never meant to carry this beyond the cross.” Some of us have been Christians for many years, while others maybe for just a few months. No matter the length of time of being Christ followers, we all agree that it can be difficult. We all deal with the issue of sin in our lives, and some of those sins seem to be a continual battle.  We will be good for months or maybe years, and then the temptation of that sin shows up again, and again we fail and have to start over. This is frustrating, and many times, we cry to God, why don't you just fix this!!! I know you can!! Yet again self pity wins and we come to God with questions like, “Why did you make me this way? Why am I so messed up? The questions go on and on as we spiral down the path of doubt and guilt. But then it was brought to my attention by a very close person in my life that we were not built or designed for this fallen world. God built and designed us for a world that only knew Him and never knew sin. Our bodies, minds, and spirits are foreign to the fallen world we live in. We are like fish out of water. Adam and Eve were not designed and created to have a relationship with sin, nor carry it the were to only have a relationship with God.  This is why we feel the burden of sin. When we are exposed to this poison it makes us sick and causes spiritual death. But God took care of this cancer, and He gave us the cure; He sent His son so we could actually purge our spirit from the poison of sin every day. This is not an excuse to blame God for how He designed us, but rather it's an opportunity to freely take what He has provided for us - Jesus! It is also not a license to sin, but rather it is an opportunity to experience and then know how much our Father loves us in offering us His grace and mercy despite our rebellious and fallen nature. Our Creator knows and values His creation. Remember you were never meant to carry this beyond the cross.

Time's up.
