Visions or knowing God's words?
Visions or knowing God's words?
“But he delights in the LORD's instruction, and meditates in his instruction day and night.”
(The more you know the words of God, the more you will see them.)
Last night, as I lay between sleep and awake, a living picture formed in my mind. It was a picture of a man - a mild and meek warrior, no armor, just a modest cloak - knelt down among rocks in a sandy clearing with his head bowed and his hands clutched to the top of his sword The sky was the color of the sun setting in its final moments. A breeze came across from where I stood, and I could feel its comfort, hearing only the softness of its held-back roar, and then seeing its swirling effect on the sand as it moved carelessly past the kneeling warrior. This figure of a man appeared to be in fervent prayer. I could feel the presence of the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I moved closer towards him. He did not move; his intensity and focus were so deep that it seemed as if nothing could have moved him or distracted him in the place he knelt as he prayed. He gave off the presence of an alpha; nothing had the power or ability to overcome him. Then the clarity came to me in who he was. This man that I was picturing, this warrior of prayer, was the Holy Spirit in me praying without ceasing on my behalf. It was then when He the Spirit became as real as you and I standing in front of one another. The picture gave me a renewed understanding of His purpose and power. He is my encourager, my trainer, my prayer warrior, my watchman, my sustainer…... He is no less than Jesus himself, who knelt before God the Father, asking for the possession of His promised children and praying for their protection on our behalf. As the Holy Spirit knelt, holding fast to God's words, he was encouraging me through those prayers and persistently reminding me who I am and who He desires me to be. Jesus and the Spirit are in constant advocacy in our relationship with the Father. What an amazing picture of boldness and confidence in the leading of the Holy Spirit. He has got my 6, my 12, my 3, my 9. Thank you, Jesus, for making this possible. The Holy Spirit has affixed Himself to our spirits with no possibility of letting go of us. He has been charged by God to never leave His child. His loyalty and faithfulness to the Godhead guarantee His loyalty and faithfulness to us. It's not His duty; it's His glory in the position only He can provide. Remember always that He is in you!
So, is this a vision or simply picturing God’s words? Either way it caused me to know and love Him more. Time's up!
