Did You Get That in Writing
Did you get that in Writing?
Most of us have had offers or opportunities in our lives that seem too good to be true. And when we share the opportunity with a friend or another person, they might say in return, “Did you get that in writing?” Which means if the offer or opportunity turns out not to be true, then you will have proof of what was offered. See this is the beauty of God, everything He says and promises is in writing. He holds nothing back. If He says it, then it is true, and He made sure of this by giving it to us in writing. There are approximately 750,000 words that God has given to us in scripture. 750,000 words of truth that are unchanging, never to be re-edited, but to stand on God alone until Jesus’s return. Every one of these words is proof from God that He desires to communicate with His children. God’s promises and the opportunities that He has given seem too good to be true, but they are not. Did you know that God has made at least 8,000 promises, and at most, depending on the criteria, over 30,000 promises, and they are all in writing? Here are just 26 of them in writing:
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Here are another 21 words in writing:
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
and 28 more… Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Shall we continue? We only have 74,925 words and 7,997 promises that are in writing that we can look up. It’s so crazy how we can put our trust in a man-made document that guarantees something in writing and have such a difficult time trusting the 8,000-30,000 promises that God gave us in His own handwriting. I hope this is something you will think about. Who can you truly trust when you are faced with challenges or doubts that come to you in your life. Or most importantly your eternal life. Trust in man or trust in God? Trust in the Lord with all your heart. A good place to start is Proverbs. There are only around 15,000 words that will give you assurance in God's wisdom. And He’s got more if you need them. 😉
